Berberis 'Rosy Glow' is an eye catching, compact and colourful shrub. Young leaves emerge purple, with silver and pink patterns which mature to purple.
Stunning examples of these plants can be seen in St.kilda Botanical gardens where they are used as super tight low border hedging around the roses garden.
In spring, small yellow flowers open, adding a nice contrast to the foliage. The blooms are followed in summer and autumn by small, red, ornamental berries. Berberis are compact shrubs with interesting foliage and stunning autumn colour. Berberis make lovely, dwarf, specimen shrub or can be used for small hedges or in pots.
They are super low maintenance, needing only a light prune after flowering every other year to maintain form. Plant Berberis in humus rich, well drained soil. Ideally plant in a morning sun to a lightly shaded position for best foliage colour. At maturity will be 1-1.2mt tall and wide.
