Scleranthus Biflorus

Scleranthus biflorus is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae, commonly known as Australian starwort or cushion bush. It is native to Australia and New Zealand and is often grown as a garden plant for its attractive green foliage and small, white flowers that bloom in spring and summer. Scleranthus biflorus prefers well-drained soils and adapts well to a full sun or partial shade position in the garden. It is a low-growing plant that forms a dense, cushion-like mat, making it a popular choice for rock gardens and ground cover.

Grows as low attractive mounds of what looks like green moss. It is most effective near rocks and between stepping stones. It is grown for its lush green colour, foliage and texture.  
At maturity expect Scleranthus to reach 10cm high and spread up to .5mt. Terrific companion plant under evergreen screening Magnolias.
