Hakea laurina, commonly known as the Pin Cushion Hakea, is an erect to spreading Australian native shrub that grows 3–6 metres tall and wide, occasionally developing into a small tree with age. It is best known for its striking globular red flower heads with fine white protruding styles, which appear from autumn through early winter and closely resemble a pincushion — giving the plant both its common name and its ornamental appeal.

Native to the south coast of Western Australia, Hakea laurina belongs to the Proteaceae family, placing it alongside other well-loved Australian natives such as Banksia and Grevillea.
