Aphanopetalum resinosum, commonly known as Gum Vine, is a twining Australian native climber featuring glossy green leaves and delicate greenish-cream star-shaped flowers that appear from spring to early summer. Its slender form and elegant growth make it suitable for trellises, fences, or as a groundcover in shaded areas.

It thrives in moist, well-drained soils with part shade to full shade and benefits from protection from harsh sun. Although drought-tolerant once established, it performs best with regular watering, especially in dry periods. Mulching helps retain moisture and suppress weeds around the base.

Pruning after flowering can promote bushier growth and maintain shape. It is a low-maintenance plant and responds well to support structures, allowing it to climb gracefully. Regular feeding with a balanced native fertilizer supports healthy growth and flowering.

Gum Vine pairs well with ferns, Lomandra, native violets, or shade-loving groundcovers like Dichondra and Isotoma to create a soft, layered understorey.
