Leptospermum brachyandrum Silver Weeping Tea Tree is a graceful Australian native small tree or large shrub prized for its soft, silvery foliage, elegant weeping habit and clusters of small white flowers from spring into summer. It creates a beautiful feature in native, coastal and contemporary gardens, adding year-round texture and movement. At maturity, it typically reaches around 3–5 metres tall and 2–4 metres wide, depending on conditions and pruning. Its fine foliage and naturally arching branches make it ideal as a specimen, informal screen or accent tree.

In Australia, grow Silver Weeping Tea Tree in a full sun to part shade position in well-drained soil. It performs best in sandy, loamy or light clay soils and is highly suited to coastal gardens, dry conditions and frost-prone areas once established. Water regularly during establishment, then only during extended dry periods. Mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch clear of the trunk. Light pruning after flowering will help maintain a dense shape and encourage fresh silvery growth, though its natural weeping form is best left largely unspoiled.

Suitable companion plants include Westringia fruticosa for soft native structure, Callistemon ‘Clearview White’ for complementary flowers and bird attraction, and Lomandra longifolia for a hardy strappy contrast at ground level. Together, they create a resilient, low-maintenance Australian planting scheme well suited to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and many other temperate to coastal regions.
