Top Ten Border Plants for Australian Gardens

A great way to line driveways or paths is with a row of the same species shrub.  this gives structure to your garden bed and gives a distinguished feel to front or back yard. A great example of this is an even formal clipped hedge of English box planted along the front of an heritage brick driveway.

For formal gardens, plants like Buxus species and escallonia are a great example.  However for a more flowing feel and contrast, consider the Cotyledon silver waves or a grass species.

Border plants generally like to be planted 30cm apart.  For English box or other buxus species, consider planting even closer.  This provides the dense formal square effect as pictured above.
