Acacia Podalyriifolia, Silver Wattle
One of the most popular and widely cultivated of Wattles. A delightful bird attracting colourful tall shrub or small tree which reaches about 5 meters in height by a similar spread. The flowers occur in ball-shaped clusters and are a golden yellow in color. Flowering is mainly in late winter and early spring. Useful as a quick growing screening plant as it generally retains a bushy shape. The species is suited to a wide range of climates, particularly drier areas. It tolerates at least moderate frosts and is drought tolerant once established. Also useful for cut flower arrangements.
